Maurice and Tony Rednall:
(1st Prize).

Rob Mitchell: (3rd Prize).
Based on the Stainless Melting and Continuous Casting electric melting shop in Sheffield
Individual machines representing the complete process are reproduced, plus 2 fully working overhead cranes
Uses over 30 motors and measures about 5ft long, 3 ft wide and 2 ft high.

Richard Payn: (4th Prize).
Oskosh military Palletised Load System Vehicle. Features 10-wheel drive through 6-speed epicyclic gearbox, 2-speed transfer case and 3 inter-axle diffs. Small crane behind engine and gearbox which has 2 outrigger feet. Rear of chassis has the loading and unloading system operated in 2 sections by simulated hydraulic rams.


Maurice and Tony Rednall: (1st Prize).'Do Nothing' Ball Roller
28 snooker balls circulating.
4 lifts raise them to the top and then the balls return to the bottom by gravity (mainly) via a number of alternative routes
40 ball controlled relays control 11 motors which operate various gates, lifts, points, nudgers etc.

Darren Bonner: (2nd Prize).
Subaru Impreza WRX STI.
Scale about ¼, features 4-wheel drive with centre diff, 5 speed & reverse gearbox, coil spring suspension, working sun roof and lights, and fully modelled engine and interior.

John Hornsby: (5th Prize).
Demag CC 4000 Heavy Duty Crawler Crane with luffing fly jib, to 1/25 scale. Powered by 7 motors to present the hydraulic drives of the prototype.
